CLARIFICATION ON EVENTING IN NORTH EAST

CLARIFICATION ON EVENTING IN NORTH EAST

British Eventing would like to provide clarification on BE fixtures taking place in the North East of England, following the increased COVID-19 measures introduced by the UK Government on 18 September 2020.

Direction from the Government confirms, sports that are formally organised by a sports club or similar organisation, with guidance issued by a sports governing body, are permitted to take place. Therefore, fixtures affiliated to British Eventing – the National Governing Body for the sport – are permitted to continue.

All BE fixtures are taking place behind closed doors without spectators and members are reminded that the Sport Resumption Protocols remain in place for all events. BE Protocols are updated as guidance and regulations change and members should regularly check that they are up to date with the latest protocols at [www.britisheventing.com/compete/return-to-eventing]www.britisheventing.com/compete/return-to-eventing.

The measures have been introduced to areas of the North East of England – namely, Northumberland, North Tyneside, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Gateshead, South Tyneside, Sunderland and County Durham.
