Upcoming Hospitality and events

Burgham International – Thursday 26 July to Sunday 30 July – The organising team at Burgham is renowned for their warm welcome to owners. EHOA members are welcome to use the hospitality facility provided. 

Festival of Eventing at Gatcombe – Friday 4 to Sunday 6 August – The Owners Hospitality will as usual be located on the main arena, where salad lunches and light refreshments will be provided by a caterer, with support from the EHOA. It really is a good spot to enjoy the National Championships and other Festival entertainments. If you are a Corinthian Cup competitor or know someone who has qualified, please note that the highest-placed EHOA Member (to have joined before 28 July) will be awarded an engraved memento and accompanying £250 award. Do let us know if you are taking part so we can support you and hopefully present you with the prize. If you know a competitor who is not an EHOA member please encourage them to join by dangling the prize carrot in front of them along with this hospitality update. 

Defender Blair Castle International – Thursday 24 to Sunday 27 August – A trip north to Blair is always met with great sport and exceptional hospitality, and 2023 will be no exception. The organisers have arranged for a caterer to be on hand to supply refreshments in the owners marquee, which is sited perfectly for main arena viewing. Thank you to the organisers and volunteers who regularly make this event a special one for owners. 

Defender Burghley Horse Trials – Thursday 31 August to Sunday 3 September – Always a flagship event for the EHOA, our 2023 provision at Burghley will look a little different from past years.  As per usual our marquee will be located adjacent to Ring 2, enabling easy access to all of the 5* phases action and viewing of the varied supporting classes taking place, as well as the drama of the start and finish on cross country day.  Catering for 2023 will be provided by a new supplier. Please support this service by planning to use their services for light refreshments at either end of the day and full meals at lunchtime thus avoiding the queues and crowds elsewhere.  Note that we may be required to take meal orders in advance to ensure smooth operations. Other facilities provided for EHOA members will include multi-screen viewing, dedicated Wi-Fi, stable field passes and the essential posh loos. Our lovely facilities at Burghley offers us the opportunity to raise a glass to Celebrate the Association’s 25th Anniversary.  More information will follow about how to register to attend. As ever, the EHOA AGM will be held on Sunday and will be accompanied by a light lunch.

BLENHEIM PALACE INTERNATIONAL – Thursday 14 to Sunday 17 September – The EHOA is pleased to be collaborating with event organisers Stable Events Ltd on their provision for owners at Blenheim. More details will be forwarded at a later date.

EHOA Annual Awards Ceremony,  combined with a day at the Races during Cheltenham’s November Meeting – Sunday 19 November

Following a very fun and sell-out lunch and race day in 2022, we plan to repeat the experience this year. The Association’s silverware will be presented on Sunday 19 November in the Festival Restaurant. British Eventing and the British Horse Foundation have already reserved their tables – save the date and plan to join us for a celebratory day at the Races.
