SsangYong Blenheim Palace Horse Trials

I am writing to you to advise you that the organisers of the SsangYong Blenheim Palace Horse Trials have secured support for a dedicated Owners, Athletes and Trainers (OATs) facility for this year’s event. Owners that have horses competing and EHOA members are invited to use this new facility on offer.

The facility will be supported by Theraplate UK whose wave vortex stimulation therapy products are aimed at equine, dog and human rehabilitation and are used by vets, rehab centres and several riders. They will not only be supporting the OATs facility but will be also be supplying products in the stables for riders to use during the event and offering, in cooperation with another of Blenheim’s sponsors the opportunity to win one of their units.

The Owners, Athletes and Trainers marquee will be located adjacent to the main arena collecting ring allowing owners to watch the horses prepare for CCI3* dressage and the show jumping phases of the 8 & 9-year-old CIC3* and the CCI3* as well as a great place to see the ‘south lawn’ loop of the CCI3* cross-country on Saturday.

This will be a private marquee for Owners, Athletes and Trainers to use to watch horses working in and to relax. There will be tables and chairs inside there will be a garden area with patio furniture, complimentary refreshments, daily papers and lifestyle magazines and from the sponsors complimentary tea and coffee and a welcome glass of fizz!

Furthermore, as well as complimentary use of this facility, the organisers, are offering any members who want to attend the event a £5 discount on their booking when made online before the end of August.  Anyone who wishes to use the OATs  facility simply needs to show their EHOA badge to the stewards to gain admission.

To take advantage of the booking discount we would ask members to use the code OAT2018 in the promo box of the box office checkout at www.blenheimhorse.co.uk and to book before the end of August in order to obtain the discount (any owners who book but whose horse is then accepted to run will be given a full refund).

I should like to take this opportunity to draw your attention to the fact that as Blenheim coincides with the World Equestrian Games (13 – 16 Sept). There will be live streaming of the Games into the event and on Saturday evening there will be an informal supper with the WEG cross country played on the big screen in the Marlborough Pavilion.

Attached is an offer for those parties interested in a hiring a Riverside Pavilion. Blenheim are extending their riverside pavilion offer to individuals as well as companies this year and thought they might appeal to owners. It’s a cost effective way to host guests in a special part of the course and we’re hoping the uptake will reflect that. The price on the attached is based on a 6x6m pavilion, but we can provide larger options along with food and drink packages if required.

Kind regards,

Alex

The ideal candidate should have a good knowledge and deep affection for the Sport, a desire to support the sport and in particular to encourage Ownership within the sport.

This requires diplomacy, good communication skills, perseverance, but above all an understanding of the wider issues beyond those of just Ownership.

(The Chairman does not sit on or regularly attend meetings on any of these bodies but may be consulted from time to time to raise the EHOA’s voice on issues which effect owners).
  • To sign the Annual Accounts.
  • To represent and evolve the voice of Owners in the Sport and to start new initiatives where required.
  • To support the Members of the Board with their individual responsibilities and in particular:-
  1.  Support the Hospitality Director in our relationships with Event Organisers.
