AGM

Please find attached the EHOA AGM notification and agenda including the form should you wish to vote via proxy.

The EHOA Board would like to invite you to join the meeting being held for the first time on Microsoft Teams.

To help us gauge membership interest please email: board@ehoa.org if you would like the invitation to join. The meeting will start promptly at 19:00 on Wednesday 20th November. Should you have any questions – there will be an opportunity to ask on the evening but if you would like a detailed response we ask you to submit those in advance so that they can be directed to the appropriate person. Please send all questions by Sunday 17th November to board@ehoa.org.

Final week

The final long format event in the UK circuits started earlier yesterday at Bicton.

Event location: Bicton Arena, East Budleigh, Yettington, Devon,  EX9 7BL

Then the final one day event on the British circuits will start tomorrow at Norton Disney.

Event location: Speetley Equestrian Centre, Speetley Farm, Chesterfield, Barlborough, Derbyshire, S43 4TA

Bicton Event Specifics:

  • Dogs must be kept on leads at all times.
  • Entrance Policy: Free entry for BE members with the membership card, otherwise it is £10 per car.
  • NO bikes on cross country course

Norton Disney Event Specifics

For members who wish to follow the action abroad, we have EHOA owned horses competing at the final 5* of 2024 in Pau. All details can be found on their website:  The event also has live streaming – this is a purchase one though. Cost is €19.50, it is possible to watch all the action live this year and then footage from previous years.

Eventing this weekend

The only UK event running this weekend is Oasby after the cancellation news earlier in the week from Bovington and Littleton Manor.

  • All-Terrain Vehicles/Motorcycles/motorised bikes/Motability scooters, please see www.bedeltd.co.uk  for their ‘Wheeled Vehicle Policy’
  • Dogs must be kept on leads at all times
  • Litter must be taken home
  • No car passes will be issued as there is no charge for admission
  • An Eventful Life are filming onsite so use your discount code to purchase a video of your horse

Then next week sees the final UK events running for 2024 and the last EHOA hospitality marquee which will be at Bicton. If you are at the event and can spare an hour or 2 to assist with the smooth running of the marquee we would be most grateful. Our new Chairman Alex Wakeley will be onsite Thursday and Friday so do pop in and meet him, he is keen to meet our members and hear their thoughts. I will be around Friday and Saturday so any membership queries – come and see me. The marquee will once again be situated on the edge of the Northern Counties arena.

For those members not at Bicton – Winter well and we look forward to seeing you in 2025.

November 20th – Annual AGM, official notification will come out soon. After membership feed back we are trying it online this year, so no requirement to travel. Really hope you can join us.

May 7th 2025 – 2024 Awards Presentations at Badminton. All awards winners will be notified in the next couple of weeks. Do come and join us for bubbles and canapes ahead of the start of the 5* competition. More details will come out in due course.

Eventing this weekend

Eventing this weekend takes place in the UK at the following venues:

Askham Bryan College

Take note please: The A64 eastbound is closed between Bramham and Tadcaster Ings from 8 PM Friday until at least 6 AM Monday, with restricted access from A1(M) northbound. These are the diversions in place:  A1(M) Northbound: Exit at J42 to A63, then A162 to rejoin A64. M1 Northbound: Exit at J46 to A63, joining A1(M) diversion at J42. A1(M) Southbound: Exit at J47 to A59, then A1237 to A64.

Entrance to the car park field is now located past the usual entrance. Progress through campus and take direction from parking staff

Osberton International

Osberton International starts tomorrow – Wednesday but some pf the points below relate to arrivals today onsite..

Venue Details: Osberton Estate, Worksop, Nottinghamshire, S81 0UG

Event Specifics:

  • Please do not arrive onsite BEFORE 3pm on TUESDAY.
  • Due to the overnight rain, in order to allow the ground to soak it up, the team at Osberton have delayed ALL competition by one hour on Wednesday. Trot up is delayed by an hour and dressage on Wednesday.
  • If at all possible, please delay your arrival to Wednesday rather than today.
  • Don’t forget, no access from the A1 – please follow the signage
  • Cross country courses can all be found on: https://www.crosscountryapp.com/courses.php5
  • An Eventful Life on site filming – use your EHOA discount to get a copy of your horse out competing
  • Bistro – is back for this year. Tickets are limited each evening, so please get booked in, so you don’t miss out. Bookings will close at 6pm, the night prior!
  • This year the Owners Pavilion will be open once again for you to enjoy, however please note it will only be open on FRIDAY, SATURDAY & SUNDAY
  • Please bring your reuseable cups!
