2019 long-list announced for European Championships

The British Equestrian Federation [BEF] has today confirmed the combinations that have been long-listed for the 2019 FEI European Championships.

From this list up to six combinations will be selected to represent Great Britain at the 2019 European Championship, which this year take place in Luhmühlen, Germany, from 29 August to 1 September 2019.

The long-list, in alphabetical order by athlete surname, is:

  • Alex Bragg, from Somerset, and Mr and Mrs Ellicott’s 15 year old gelding Zagreb
  • Sarah Bullimore, from Bedfordshire, with Christopher and Susan Gillespie and Brett Bullimore’s 15 year old gelding Reve du Rouet
  • Laura Collett, from Gloucestershire, and Karen Bartlett, Keith Scott and her own 10 year old gelding London 52
  • Kristina Cook, from West Sussex, and Elisabeth Murdoch’s 12 year old gelding Billy The Red
  • William Fox-Pitt, from Dorset, with Jennifer Dowling’s 10 year old gelding Little Fire
  • Piggy French, from Northamptonshire, with Jayne Mcgivern’s 12 year old gelding Quarrycrest Echo
  • Piggy French and Trevor Dickens’ 14 year old mare Vanir Kamira
  • Pippa Funnell, from Surrey, and her own and Marek Sebestak’s 12 year old gelding Majas Hope

  • Nicola Wilson, from North Yorkshire, with Mr James Lambert OBE and Mrs Jo Lambert’s 13 year old mare Bulana

World Class Eventing Performance Manager, Dickie Waygood, commented; “We are very excited and looking forward to the European Championships in Luhmuhlen. Off the back of some phenomenal results by British riders this season, we have a very strong squad to choose from and Selectors will have a tough decision to make when it comes to announcing the combinations that will head out to Germany in August.”

LAND ROVER BURGHLEY HORSE TRIALS

For those people lucky enough to have a horse potentially going to Burghley, we are now ready to process applications for the Burghley Stable Field Passes. These are granted by Burghley to the EHOA, and its members, as a special benefit. They are available only to our paid up members (not for additional family etc). They are solely for access, on foot, to the Stable Field and do not gain entrance to the event.

All tickets will be named, recorded and are non transferable. Those wishing to apply should send a stamped addressed envelope, by 25th August.

Duo Nunney International

Friday sees the start of the Duo Nunney International in the West Country. The exact address for those that need it is: Nunney, Southfield House, FROME, Whatley, Somerset, BA11 3JY.

The EHOA will be hosting the Owners marquee which is situated alongside the show jumping arena. As normal tea/coffee, biscuits/cakes on offer along with daily newspapers. Homemade lunch with a glass of wine is also on offer for which we ask for donations for the events charity. Please do support this.

Tor Rickcord and her team will be onsite for the three days so please pop in and say hello. They do love to see members.

The card machine will also available for those members that need to renew their membership or for those members wishing to purchase membership for fellow Owners.

Equi-Trek Bramham International Horse Trials

Tomorrow sees the start of Equi-Trek Bramham International Horse Trials.

For those members requiring directions the address is: Bramham Park, Wetherby, West Yorkshire, LS23 6ND however, if you wish to park next to the lorry park up near the stables,  please use the postcode: LS23 6LR

The cocktail party, on Thursday evening, in the members bar, it is by invitation only. Invitations are in your Owners pack which need collecting on arrival from Holly Farr and her team in the stables office.

The EHOA have a hospitality marquee, open from Thursday morning, situated on the arena edge at the entrance to the main area from the collecting ring end. Alex Mawdesley and Kimberley McDougall are your hosts for the weekend. If you need to renew your membership please do pop in and see the team. The card machine will also be on site for the weekend.
