Eventing Spring Carnival at Thoresby Park

The only British Eventing event running this weekend is the Spring Festival at Thoresby Park after the cancellation of Goring Heath.

This starts today at 9am with the FEI 2*, 3* and 4* CIC-S classes doing dressage. Start times and results can be found on: https://www.eventingscores.co.uk/events/event.php?eventid=1768

Venue details are: Thoresby Park, Netherfield Lane, Newark, Nottinghamshire, NG22 9EP

Thoresby Park is located a short drive from the A57/A1 junction. Please follow the event postcode (NG22 9EP) until you pick up event signage which will direct you to the correct gate. Please note – NO ACCESS for event traffic is through the Thoresby Hall Hotel

Some notes from the team at BEDE:

Should you be lucky enough to be in the prize giving this coming weekend there are some specific instructions – Prize Givings are an important part of the event, not only for you as owners and riders, but also for our Sponsors, which without their support, events like this could not take place.

To this end, we understand many of you are busy during the event, so if you are competing in the NATIONAL classes, we will not operate a prize giving. However, the TOP 3 can collect their rosettes from the event office, along with the Winning Owners prize.

For those of you who are joining us in the Warner Leisure 2*, Investec Rock Model Trophy 3*, or Lycetts Grantham Cup 4*, we will require the top 3 riders and winning owners at the Prize Giving. Prize Givings will take place at:

Warner Leisure 2* – 6pm on Friday

Investec Rock Model Trophy 3* – 3pm on Saturday

Lycetts Grantham Cup 4* – 3.30pm on Sunday

If you are unable to attend the prize giving, then please ensure there is a representative is there. If unattended Prize Money will be forfeited

  • Owners access to the event is via their BE QR code which will admit all occupants to the event, however each owner will only get 2 badges for the Caunton Clubhouse (per named owner)
  • To improve our green credentials we will not be offering single use mugs within the Caunton Clubhouse supported by Equitex, please bring a reusable mug with you, or you will be able to purchase one from the Caunton Clubhouse for £5.
  • There will be CCTV within the enclosure on Sat & Sun, complimentary T&C all weekend, heating and a range of seating options with views across the cross country course and main arena.
  • Lycetts Drinks – We are once again delighted to welcome Lycetts back as the sponsors of the Grantham Cup at Thoresby. They would like to invite you all for a drink at their on course chalet on Saturday evening. We hope to see many of you there!
  • We thank everyone for their support and look forward to seeing everyone at Thoresby.

Best of luck to everyone going, keep dry and enjoy.

PLEASE leave additional time for your journey.

Then looking ahead to April –

Thoresby Spring Carnival of Eventing

Looking forward to the end of March, BEDE have kindly invited EHOA members as well as owners of competing horses to use the Caunton Clubhouse at the Spring Carnival of Eventing at Thoresby.   EHOA membership badges must be worn to gain access and to enjoy complimentary tea and coffee and live streaming at the weekend. A caterer will be on hand to serve delicious meals for which payment is required.

The organisers would be pleased if EHOA members could volunteer time to host the Caunton Clubhouse facility. If you can spare a few hours over the weekend please email theehoa@gmail.com to let us know of your availability and give us a provisional idea of which day you may have time to help.

There is further, new facility at Thoresby, the All Star B Enclosure, where for a charge of £85 per day (and £65 for competing owners) visitors can enjoy breakfast, lunch and tea, full event live streaming and talks from professional riders.  All the details are below.

We are delighted to welcome a brand new enclosure to the event this year, which is based on the Formula 1 Paddock Club, The Allstar B Enclosure.

Allstar B (Alby) was a firm part of Team GBR for many years with Ros Canter. Alby and Ros were crowed World Champions in 2018, following on from Team Gold at the Europeans the year before. Alby travelled to Tokyo as reserve in 2021 and were part of Team GBR Gold at the Europeans in 2021. Alby and Ros were regulars at many local events. The Allstar B Enclosure is recognition of Alby’s unique place in the Sport.

The Allstar B Enclosure offers a warm and inviting location away from the weather and hustle of the showground. Enjoy being hosted within the hub of the action, just touching distance from the excitement of the cross country, and the thrills of the Show Jumping and Main Arena Attractions.

The Allstar B Enclosure will be open on Sat 1st & Sun 2nd April.

Alongside this prime location, you will be able to enjoy complimentary breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea, along with CCTV of the cross country and guest speakers over the weekend, which include Dickie Waygood, Nicola Wilson, Ros Canter and Caroline Moore.

We understand, that as owners, you are an integral part of the sport. By entering your horse into the International classes at Thoresby, we understand you have paid a much larger entry fee. Therefore as a small thank you for support of the Eventing Spring Carnival, we would like to offer you a

£20 discount on the Allstar B tickets.

To claim this discount, please book your tickets via our website (linked below) and use the code INTOWNASB, within the promotion code at checkout.

Please note that tickets for the Allstar B Enclosure are strictly limited and will close on Friday 17th March.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like further details.
Many thanks

Team BEDE

Finally as always times and results can be found on www.eventingscores.co.uk
