Lycetts announces new partnership with the Event Horse Owners Association

29.03.24 – Leading equine and bloodstock insurance broker, Lycetts, has become a new partner of the Event Horse Owners Association (EHOA).

As part of the one-year deal, Lycetts will present a prize to the highest placed EHOA member in the BE90 and BE100 championships at the Voltaire Design Badminton Grassroots Championships in May.

Tim Slinger, Associate Director at Lycetts, said: “We are delighted to support the EHOA, which helps enable event horse owners to network, socialise and contribute to the sport.

“This partnership not only symbolises Lycetts’ deep-rooted commitment to the equine sector but also underscores our dedication to nurturing the spirit of eventing.”

In addition to the partnership announcement, Lycetts is introducing a new £1,000 prize at the Eventing Spring Carnival’s prestigious Grantham Cup, held at Thorseby Park over Easter weekend.

The prize will be awarded to the highest ranking Lycetts-insured rider, adding an extra layer of excitement to the competition.

Lycetts has been a proud sponsor of the Grantham Cup since 2013, and the event will be one of the highlights of the three-day carnival, which commences on March 28th.

Peter Knowles, Lycetts Sales and Marketing Director, added: “We’re always looking for innovative ways to enhance the competitive spirit and enjoyment of equestrian events. The introduction of this new £1,000 prize at the Grantham Cup is a testament to that commitment.

“It’s a thrilling addition to a highly competitive class, that ensures riders are recognised for their exceptional skills and dedication”

Thorseby Spring Carnival

Eventing this weekend:

Location – Thorseby Park –  Netherfield Lane, Newark, Nottinghamshire, NG22 9EP

After the recent announcement that Lycetts Insurance brokers will be in partnership with the EHOA they would like to invite Owners attending Thorseby Spring Festival to join them in the Owners Marquee in the walled garden at the Eventing Spring Carnival at Thoresby.

The perfect spot for watching the dressage taking place on Thursday 28th and Friday 29th March. Watch your horse compete whilst enjoying a glass of fizz.

Lycetts also have a Marquee located near the water complex. During the course of Friday afternoon and Saturday they will be offering hospitality to any owners, riders and their connections, and of course any existing Lycetts clients.

BEDE Events look forward to welcoming many of you to the Eventing Spring Carnival at Thoresby this weekend. Our team have been working all hours recently to ensure that everything is ready and we have got the best ground we could offer given the incredibly wet spring. We just wanted to highlight a few bits of information to you all which will hopefully ensure your weekend goes smoothly.

Once again our Owners Pavilion will be open from (9am – 4pm) on Friday, Saturday & Sunday. This is suitated in the centre of the site, and only a short (downhill!) walk from the car park. We are doing all we can to improve our sustainability credentials and given we are a green field site we want to do all we can to reduce waste. On this note, we will not be providing single use mugs in the Owners Pavilion. Please could you bring your own reusable mug, or we will have branded BEDE mugs for sale at £5 each. Please come prepared!

All registered BE owners with horses running at Thoresby should have received a car pass by email – if you haven’t please email tickets@bedeltd.co.uk as soon as possible, so we can resend out if needed. These are a single use ticket, so when you arrive please ensure you come to the event office to collect your Owners pack, which will have 2 owners badges and a car pass for any remaining days you are joining us. All members of the EHOA and HTSG are welcome to use our owners facility, please just show your relevant badge to the catering team if asked.

We have had the most beautiful few days and the site is looking amazing. The forecast is looking good, but as we know we cannot predict the weather! We will have H&C with us over the three days and they will be providing a live stream of all the cross country and the majority of the Grantham Cup dressage and show jumping.

We do have an exciting new initative for Owners in conjunction with Hawkstone Brewery, which many of you will know from Clarkson’s Farm! There will be an official launch on Friday 29th March at 3.30pm in the Owners Pavilion. We do hope many of you can join us for this, and all the details will be released on our website after the launch.

Just a word of warnign to owners with horses in teh Grantham Cup –

The GRANTHAM CUP CCI4* Section H will have the XC in reverse order for the top 25% after SJ. The start times will be produced as soon as possible after the jumping has finished.

Once again a huge thank you to you all for your support of Thoresby, and we wish you all the best of luck. Please if you have any questions, email Georgie – georgie@bedeltd.co.uk and she will do her best to help you

New Sponsorship Opportunity available for 2024.

Over the past two years we have seen a substantial increase in our 4* entries, and we are aware this is a key fixture for these combinations who are likely headed to Badminton, Kentucky and other large fixtures later in the season. Last year, we added an additional 4* class at the last minute to accommodate these entries, and we are keen to continue this into 2024, to ensure riders get their ideal runs. To enable us to help us do this, we are looking for a sponsor for this additional class to cover the prize money. Below is an outline of a package for this sponsorship proposal. Details of the CCI4*-S Class Sponsorship at The Eventing Spring Carnival 2024 are available on request.

Please let Georgie know if you would like any further information.
