Les Etoiles de Pau.

Despite the National season finishing last week we do have one more International competition where a number of athletes that are based in the UK are competing – Les Etoiles de Pau. The final 5* for 2023.

For those interested in following the action there are multiples ways:

Busy weekend ahead

Events taking place:

  • Bicton Arena International – Bicton Arena, East Budleigh, Yettington, Devon, EX9 7BL
  • Norton Disney – White Hall Farm, Norton Disney, Lincolnshire, LN6 9JR

BICTON: Yesterday saw a damp start at the trot up in Devon with the first few competitors also starting their dressage in the rain. The team at Bicton are running a multitude of classes over the next 3 days so please bear with them in this inclement weather. The EHOA also have hospitality available to all members and owners of all competing horses – situated just next to the Sponsors marquee on the edge of the cross country course. Tea/coffee, newspapers and snacks available. Please do pop in and say hi. Linda our chair will be around until Saturday evening assisted by some wonderful volunteers. If you haven’t managed to sort your Cheltenham ticket out, speak to Linda and she will be able to help.

Your BE QR code will give you complimentary access for the duration of the event. The End Of Season Party will be on Saturday night and supports the Devon Air Ambulance who are Bicton’s chosen charity.

Eventing this weekend takes place at the following locations:

Bovington – Allenby Barracks, Wool BH20 6JG

Littleton Manor – Littleton Manor, Reigate, RH2 8QZ

Oasby – No specific instructions this week
Bovington – 

The u18 course walks are with Cameron Beer, and are:

Sunday 8am – 90s and 100s 
Sunday 2.15pm – Novices

Meet at cross country start.
Please text Cameron on 07863 294315 stating your name and the class to ‘book’ on to a course walk.

If you are not able to do the above times or are in the 80 class, but would like to discuss the course or your competition plan with Cameron Beer please do give him a call.

Weekly update – events going ahead this weekend.

Askham Bryan -For those people who win a rosette they have fabulous large rosettes to 10th place – Please leave a stamped addressed envelope if you would like this sending to you or bring £2. Email Organiser (shaun.malpass@askham-bryan.ac.uk ) within 7 days of event with class and horse number if you would like dressage sheets scanning to you. Dogs on leads at all times please – grazing land for cattle & sheep.

Tweseldown – Free public parking for everyone attending.

Swalcliffe – Entrance Policy – Each car displaying a current BE membership card will be admitted including all occupants. Dogs on leads at all times please. More details can be found on the website: http://www.swalcliffeparkequestrian.co.uk/

There are also tickets still available for the awards lunch at Cheltenham. Please don’t miss out on the opportunity to join fellow members for a great social event prior to the start of the Winter months.

The final outing for the hospitality team in 2023 will be at Bicton. We will be on the look out for a few volunteers, please do get in touch if you can help at all.
