EHOA Subscriptions

When the EHOA first started we ran hospitality at just a few major Events: Badminton, Burghley and The Festival of Eventing.  Over the years this has proved very popular with our Members and is, we believe, something that should be at all the major events, certainly those running CIC’s & CCI’s.

In the last few years the number of hospitality tents that we now host or manage has multiplied significantly. However, the work involved in providing this level of hospitality has gone beyond what we can expect from even the most dedicated volunteer to manage. Therefore we have decided to seek paid help, as we already have in the time consuming roles of Membership and PR/Website.

Since formation our subscriptions have not quite kept up with inflation; however, to cover this increase in our costs we will have to raise our annual subscriptions for the first time in 4 years as follows:-

Full Member –    £66.00
Owner/Rider –    £42.00
Joint       –         £90.00

Whilst this represents a 20% increase on the current year we still feel that this represents very good value for money, and the use of our hospitality facilities shows us that this is an area we should continue to fully support.

Finally I would like to say thank you for all your support and we very much look forward to seeing you in the hospitality tents in 2018.

BEF Medal of Honour

Congratulations to all those who received the BEF Medal of Honour Awards at Olympia this week.    The EHOA membership secretary is part of the presentation team at Olympia so was in the arena to see the awards being made.

In the main arena of the Olympia, The London International Horse Show, the BEF made presentations to seven ambassadors of equestrianism.

Peter Whitehead is awarded for his medical support across the equestrian disciplines and to the British teams at the Olympic, Paralympic, World and European Championships over the last 15 years.

Alex Colquhoun is recognised for his role as Chairman of Selectors to British Eventing’s Young Rider Programme, helping to develop future British Young Rider teams and produce talented young riders who are now representing Great Britain at senior level.

Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials Event Director, Elizabeth Inman receives her medal for her dedication to the prestigious international four star event, initially as Event Secretary, Assistant Director and now as Director.

Giles Roswell is recognised for his commitment to eventing, previously as Chef d’Equipe for the eventing team in the early 1980’s and most recently as British Eventing International Director.

Three members of Great Britain’s para-dressage team were also among the recipients.

Para-Dressage athletes, Julie Payne, Suzanna Hext and Erin Orford are recognised for their individual medal-winning performances at this year’s FEI European Championships. The trio also contributed to the team’s gold medal, maintaining Great Britain’s unbeaten record at all major championships. .
