EHOA Chairperson retirement

Linda Allan, the EHOA Chairperson, has retired from the role after 4 hugely successful years at the helm of the Association.   Linda will retire with immediate effect from the role but will stay on the board until the end of Burghley.

Long time member and fellow board director, Alex Wakeley, will take over as interim Chairman with immediate effect.

Linda took on the role during 2020 and has steered the organisation through some tough times – COVID and the wettest springs on record.

Under her leadership the Association has grown to in excess of 1000 members.

The EHOA is a strategic partner with British Eventing and Linda has been a huge part of the meetings representing owners’ interest at the highest level. Alongside establishing a fantastic working rapport with our partners and discount providers.   The very successful Veteran League was Linda’s idea, and it has been a very popular initiative.

Alex Wakeley said “the work and commitment Linda has given to the association has been extraordinary – she steered the ship through some tough times with commitment and dedication.  She has pushed owner recognition at every level.” We will be very sorry to see Linda go but look forward to welcoming her as an Owner to come and enjoy the sport in our hospitality facilities. Going forward for the rest of the Season I and the rest of the Board will be working closely with our partners, stakeholders and members to ensure all their interests are fulfilled.

Linda said, “I have greatly enjoyed working with eventing’s stakeholders on behalf of members to promote owners’ representation in the sport and to provide an environment that enhances owners’ enjoyment of their horses”.

The recruitment process will commence shortly to find a person to take on the Chair position at the latter part of the year.
