Bank holiday weekend

Events running over the next few days are:

  • Agria Lifetime Equine Shelford Manor: Shelford Manor, Shelford, Shelford Manor, Notts, NG12 1ES

Bishop Burton: Novice Under 18 course walks: Sunday 9am and 10am meet at the xc start. SJ approx 11am. Please text Sue Chadwick if you wish to attend please: 07971830230. Please can riders in the u18 classes print your numbers on pink paper.

Blindley Heath: all updated information including a programme can be found on their website: www.blindleyheathhorsetrials.com. Owners to park in car park, no cars in lorry park please. Have your BE membership card to hand when you arrive. If you require disabled parking, please contact Lucy Cunliffe in advance and she will be able to assist, her email is: info@blindleyheathhorsetrials.com

The EHOA have a hospitality marquee at Bicton which is situated up next to the dressage and Miranda Heynes will be around on Thursday and Friday to welcome you and I will be there over the weekend. Please do pop in and say hello and come and enjoy the facilities on offer, pleased to say you might need sunscreen, this weekend!

As always results for all events can be found on the British Eventing website and eventing scores.

Other news – BE held a sports committee meeting earlier this week and we will be updating members on the outcome of the discussions so watch this space. Going forwards Tina Ure will be the EHOA representative that will sit on this committee so if you have any points for her please email your questions over to: theehoa@gmail.com

Eventing this weekend

British Eventing are running events at the following locations this weekend:

  • Tweseldown – Tweseldown Racecourse, Bourley Road, Fleet, Church Crookham, Hampshire, GU52 8AD
  • Frenchfield – Frenchfield Farm, Carleton, Penrith, Cumbria, CA11 8TZ

Whilst there are no specific event instructions this weekend please if you have time do pop into the Organisers marquee and say thank you for running – as we all know if has been a very challenging time for all event organisers recently.

On a separate note – Bicton three day event starts on Wednesday and we are on the look out for some volunteers to help man the event. Please get in touch if you can spare some time.

Eventing this weekend

Eventing this week takes place at the following locations – please keep an eye on the British Eventing website for the latest news.

  • Aston le Walls – Washbrook Farm, Aston-le-Walls, Nr. Daventry, Northants, NN11 6RT
  • Floors Castle – Floors Castle, Kelso, Roxburghshire, TD5 7SF
  • Chatsworth – Chatsworth, Bakewell, Derbyshire, DE45 1PP
  • Llanymynech – Lower House Farm, Llanymynech, Nr Oswestry, Shropshire, SY22 6LG

Aston le Walls – no specific event instructions. Equireel are on venue if you would like to purchase a copy of your horses’ round.

Floors Castle – Please follow all signage when travelling to the horse trials. Directional signage will be erected if approaching the event from any side of Kelso. It is important to follow all signage and enter the event through the Golden Gates on Roxburgh Street in Kelso. If travelling in a large, high sided vehicle please be aware of the height restriction on the Golden Gate. If your vehicle is too large PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE IN THE GATES. Contact 07831447566 for assistance and we will direct you through a different gate. Spectators and Competitors arrive through the Golden Gates and will be directed to the correct parking area.

Action Replay Photography are the official photographers and videographers at Floors for all phases and all classes in Arena Two. Photographs and videos can be viewed online only at www.actionreplayphotography.co.uk 

Chatsworth – sadly all novice competition was cancelled earlier this evening. FEI classes and the advanced are currently still running.

EHOA hospitality on offer – pop along to say hello. It is located on the edge of the main arena, collecting ring end for show jumping. If you can spare an hour to help, it would be hugely appreciated.

Thank you to everyone that came to Badminton to use the hospitality, it was good to see you all. The Coronation drinks and canapés evening was a success and we are looking to do something similar at Burghley to celebrate the Association’s 25th year anniversary. Keep an eye out for more details in the Summer.

 If you joined or renewed your membership I am slowly making my way through all the applications, there are a few, so please bare with me. If you do not receive your membership pack by the end of the month, do get in touch and give me a nudge – I won’t be offended!

Huge congratulation to our grassroots members that completed, an accolade to compete on the hallowed Badminton turf. If you haven’t received your competition rosette, do get in touch.

Delighted to say that in the 5* we had a number of EHOA owned horses competing and a good number featured in the top 10 – well done to all connections.

Good luck if your are out and about eventing over the coming days – might need your brolly at certain times!

Chatsworth

With Chatsworth looming at the end of the week, we are on the look out for some helpers to assist in the running of our hospitality marquee.

We have fabulous caterers who will have some delicious local produce available for purchase so it will just be a question of assiting with tea/ coffee / newspapers etc.
